The successful candidate will have an outstanding track record of success in workover rig experience in operating heavy equipment while ensuring communication skills are effective and complying with all safety polices to ensure the team is always working in safe conditions.
OCCUPATION: RIG OPERATOR
General Description of Occupation:
The Rig Operator works on a service rig and is responsible for servicing oil and gas wells. The duties include driving the crew vehicle, assisting in rigging-up and down, and operating the rig/components as necessary. All duties are to be performed according to operating procedures to maximize safety and to efficiently perform the task.
Essential Functions of Job:
• Supervise the raising and lowering of the derrick.
• Assist in rigging up/down equipment
• Lifting, removing or installing the production equipment as required by the well operator or other designated company official.
• Largely responsible for determining how the job will be performed, based on the specific conditions at the well.
• Direct the activities of the crew as required.
• Operating the rig and its components during all oil well drilling jobs.
• Observe and possibly fill in for other crew members during the operation of the rig and its components as essential for safe job performance.
• Drive crew to location, ensuring all are fit for duty.
• Pre-hitch, contact crew members to notify of upcoming job and meeting point.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills you’ll need:
• Workover rig experience
• Ability to work in various, sometimes challenging, weather conditions
• Experience and comfort working at heights
• Must have a "can do", customer services orientated approach
• Ability to communicate both oral and written effectively
• Must comply with all safety policies and procedures
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
• Safeland/PEC
• Valid driver license
• CDL
• Well Control School
• H2S, Forklift/Manlift, and CPR/1st Aid
• Any other heavy equipment licenses or certifications
Physical Requirements of Job:
Amount of each day spent: Standing: 60% Walking: 30% Sitting: 10%
Employee works: Inside: 10% Outside: 90%
While performing job, employee will be required:
lifting/carrying (0-100lbs) 2-3 times/hour 8-10 hours/day
pulling/pushing (0-75lbs) 2-3 times/hour 8-10 hours/day
to squat 2-3 times/hour 8-10 hours/day
to kneel 2-3 times/hour 8-10 hours/day
