Position Overview
Sr. Landman- Central at DGOC – Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation – a wholly‐owned subsidiary of Diversified Energy Company PLC (listed on the NYSE and LSE under “DEC”) – is an established owner and operator of conventional and unconventional natural gas & oil wells, midstream pipelines, and compression stations. Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, with operations throughout the Appalachian Basin and an expansion into the Central Regional Focus Area (Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas), DGOC is seeking a Landman to support its Central Division operations. The candidate will serve as the initial contact for Lessors and property owners while collaborating with Land, Operations, Midstream, and Accounting teams. Requisition: #J-18808-Ljbffr
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate and negotiate routine well acquisitions and divestitures.
• Manage Non-Op well proposals and elections.
• Provide support to the Engineering, Drilling, and Operations teams.
• Prepare and execute assignments, letter agreements, leases, surface damage agreements, and various other land-related documents.
• Manage Land Contractors or Land Brokers on specific projects.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Joint Operating Agreements, Farm-ins & Farm-outs, and other oil & gas related agreements.
• Ensure appropriate communications and paperwork are submitted to management.
• Resolve routine and complex ownership issues.
• Support acquisition due diligence and records assimilation.
• Serve as the point-of-contact for assigned projects.
• Address operational hurdles such as access issues and landowner complaints.
• Research and document leases, rights-of-way, joint ventures, and other oil and gas agreements.
• Perform in-house title information gathering, organization and analysis of title documents to assess rights information and update internal records.
• Identify omissions or errors on leases or titles and take appropriate corrective steps.
• Negotiate and settle damage settlements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Land, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years of in-house experience with an Oil & Gas company.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate complex land documents including JOAs, Farmout Agreements, and Letter Agreements.
• Ability to work independently with some guidance.
• Highly organized with a strong work ethic.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Access and Excel), PDF, GIS, and oil and gas accounting software.
• Physical ability to work prolonged periods at a desk in front of a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
