Position Overview

Drill Cool Systems, with over 30 years of advancing oil and gas drilling, is hiring Service Technicians based at our Service Yard in Bakersfield. In this role, you will provide mechanical and/or electrical support for the installation, maintenance, and demobilization of mud cooling equipment at various drilling rig sites. You will perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and document all field conditions and service events while ensuring safety and clear communication with both the team and customers.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct installations of Geo-Coolers or Geo-Chillers on customer drilling rig sites.
• Conduct demobilizations of Geo-Coolers or Geo-Chillers on customer drilling rig sites.
• Respond to service calls and perform inspections of electrical, air, water, mud, and structural systems while making necessary repairs.
• Represent the company on drilling sites and maintain professional, clear communication with customers.
• Complete all required safety and refresher training, utilize proper PPE, and follow Drill Cool Systems, Customer, and OSHA safety standards.
• Maintain detailed and honest documentation of field conditions, service events, and safety reports using tools such as Outlook, Excel, and mobile devices.
• Immediately notify Management of any issues or unsafe conditions as per company procedures.
• Repair company equipment including mud pumps, and perform basic welding, cutting, and grinding for equipment builds and maintenance.
• Set up, maintain, and repair both 120Vac and 480Vac systems, including wiring tasks and proper labeling of components.
• Perform phase and motor rotation tasks and wire mud and HTF pumps appropriately.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of oil & gas drilling rig experience, preferably as a Motorman or Tool Pusher.
• 2+ years of general maintenance and/or electrical experience working with industrial equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurability according to company policy.
• Must be able to work long hours and adhere to shift rotations as needed.
• Heavy Physical Labor: Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor for 12+ hour shifts.
• Rig (drilling) experience and strong electrical skills are a MUST.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with servicing industrial refrigeration equipment and/or electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of the Office 365 Suite, computers, and smart phones.
