PUMP DOWN OPERATOR

Job Description
The Pump Down Operator is responsible for the safe onsite pressure pumping operation at the wellsite. Operators must have basic knowledge of a standard pump package with the ability to troubleshoot equipment at the jobsite. Must have the ability to identify and describe the function of the wellhead in order to rig up/rig down related equipment. Workload consists of 75% field and 25% shop with the ability to work away from home for extended periods of time. Must be able to obtain and maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A).

Roles And Responsibilities
• Have the ability to drive, rig up, maintain, repack and rig down equipment
• Demonstrates reliability, reports to work on time for scheduled shifts
• Shows initiative, demonstrates awareness and follows instructions
• Maintains a current and accurate daily activity log
• Responsible for filling out Driver’s Logs, Pre-Trip and Post-Trip reports, Fuel reports and Monthly Maintenance reports
• Keeps the location clean and performs normal housekeeping duties
• Can identify and describe the function of wellhead components including valves, gauges, and pressure ratings
• Complies with HSE policies and safety program
• They must know all components of a standard pump package and describe it function
• They will perform other duties as assigned
• They work under the direction of the District Manager
Skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operations instructions and policies/procedures
• Ability to write reports and simple correspondence effectively communicating information to groups of co-workers and/or clients
• Ability to apply common sense reasoning in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Safety
• Must have the ability to lift ±100 lbs.
• Work in toxic environments (Hydrogen Sulfide Gas) while wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus with full face sealed respiratory equipment weighing ±30 lbs.
• Work at remote well locations ±2 hours from the nearest medical care facility
• Work comfortably up to 15′ above the ground wearing the appropriate fall protection equipment designated for the job
• Ability to evacuate a fellow employee in the event of an emergency
