Manager, Procurement & Logistics
Overview:

The Manager, Procurement & Logistics individual will be responsible for the parts/materials procurement and stocking processes, the distribution of parts/materials to area mechanics, and all daily parts/materials transactions. The individual will be responsible for the management of a small team of assigned warehouse personnel related to daily operations of parts/materials department and related inventory management. This team will be responsible for Axip’s storage yard as it relates to the non-deployed compression equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Receive and prioritize calls for parts/materials needs for Axip’s compressor fleet service technicians
• Source, procure, and ship all parts/materials needed for area mechanics, with help from the shipping and receiving clerks
• Maintain proper inventory, ordering, delivering or having supplies delivered to several remote mini warehouses (connex) throughout the Permian area.
• Ensure that purchases comply with company policies and are aligned with local needs as related to pricing, availability, and quality
• Secure authorization from the appropriate person(s) for purchases based on company policy
• As required, purchases stock orders to ensure proper availability of inventory for local demand
• Obtain pertinent information from suppliers at the time of purchase order issuance to ensure smooth processing according to company policy
• Clear and timely communication with relevant Axip personnel, including regarding the status of the parts/materials requested
• Complete purchase orders and make ready for receiving on a daily basis
• Process all daily paperwork in a timely manner in accordance with supply chain procedures
• Participate in any cycle counting and physical inventory counting
• Places orders for varieties of parts/materials with established vendors; may substitute items within pre-approved guidelines
• Authority to commit company to purchases within a maximum set dollar amount as established by management.
• Maintain good working relationships with vendors and service providers to Axip
• Ability to resolve billing and quality issues in a timely manner
• Handle special projects, as assigned
Qualifications:
• Parts department experience in the compression industry or mechanical service
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Knowledge of compression and engine parts books
• Knowledge of services to be provide by vendors
• Ability to keep detailed records
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
• Computer skills
• Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• High school degree or experience in the compression industry, mechanical service, or parts purchasing
• 8-10 years of related experience or a combination of education and required experience
Physical Demands:
• Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (occasionally means an activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently frequently means an activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
