Jump into a hands-on Maintenance Technician role repairing oilfield tools and industrial equipment! Lofton Staffing is hiring a skilled technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and rebuild downhole oilfield tools (packers, valves, mandrels) as well as industrial machinery, CNC equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electrical equipment up to 480VAC. This temp-to-hire position in Northwest Houston pays $28–$32/hr DOE and is ideal for mechanically and electrically inclined professionals who thrive in a shop/manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild oilfield downhole tools
• Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on shop machinery and service equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (up to 480VAC)
• Operate and maintain CNC/manual machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, torque machines, forklifts, and overhead cranes
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify tolerances
• Perform hydrostatic and functional testing of tools and equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly prints, and manuals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
• Repair facility equipment as needed, including HVAC, plumbing, and sprinklers
• Prepare equipment for field deployment, shipping, and mobilization
• Complete service documentation, repair logs, and maintenance reports
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certificate preferred
• 3 years combined experience in mechanical repair, oilfield tools, industrial maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting
• Experience with electrical systems up to 480VAC
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience performing tool rebuilds and equipment troubleshooting
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, CNC/manual machines, and precision measuring instruments
• Ability to read technical manuals, work instructions, and engineering drawings
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and safety awareness
