Position Overview
Global Oil Gas Senior Process Safety Engineer at MatchaTalent in Bakersfield, CA. This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran Saudi Arabia. You will join the Global Manufacturing Excellence Organization within the Manufacturing Technical Support Division to address process safety engineering aspects by ensuring safety management compliance and continuously enhancing the safety of multiple operating facilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations in all operating facilities.
• Develop and maintain safety policies, documents, and procedures.
• Collaborate with refinery teams to identify opportunities for Process Hazard Analysis and provide recommendations for safer operations.
• Analyze and monitor the use of refinery Management of Change (MOC) on a daily basis and conduct MOC audits.
• Monitor Process Safety Event Reporting and Evaluation within the refinery.
• Conduct onsite observations and field inspections to gather data for process safety analyses.
• Perform internal benchmarking studies among oil and gas refineries.
• Organize technical exchange workshops among oil and gas refineries.
• Develop and deliver training materials to enhance process safety awareness among refinery personnel.
Required Qualifications
• Relocation Requirement: Candidate must be willing to permanently relocate to Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in refining oil and gas plants or petrochemical industries.
• Proficiency in industry codes and standards such as API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in process safety engineering.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas-related plant processes.
• Experience in developing process safety roadmaps and setting safety key performance indicators.
• Substantial experience in data collection and analytics to improve safety performance.
• Strong management and coordination skills.
