Job Summary:

The Valve Repair Technician is responsible for repairing relief valves in the shop or in the field. This includes disassembling, sandblasting, cleaning, inspecting, reassembling, re-machining, and lapping valves. The technician must also be able to document all repair and testing information accurately and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Disassemble, sandblast, clean, inspect, and reassemble relief valves.
• Re-machine or lap critical parts.
• Document valve repair and testing information accurately on valve repair ticket for shop and field work.
• Perform shop maintenance, such as sweeping floors, cleaning counters, test rooms, sandblaster, and organizing tools.
• Travel to and from customer plant or location.
• Climb up and down vessels on location.

Qualifications:
• Ability to completely repair spring loaded relief valves.
• Working knowledge of pilot relief valves.
• Leadership abilities.
• Ability to accurately complete all documentation required.
• Capability of sandblasting, cleaning, inspecting, disassembling, re-machining, and lapping valves.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to physically and medically wear a respirator.
• Ability to travel up to two weeks per month.
