We are seeking Electrical Apprentices/Helpers for our operations in West Texas, specifically in Pecos, Texas. We prefer local candidates but will consider helpers willing to work on a 14/7 rotational schedule or a standard 5/2 schedule. You can expect at least 50-60 hours of work per week. This is a fast-paced environment, and you must be able to handle the weather conditions in West Texas.
Functions and Responsibilities:
• Assist in installing the power supply and automation wiring.
• Help install conduit, including Rigid Metal Conduit, MC cable, strut, and cable tray.
• Aid in troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits.
• Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems such as switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, lighting, and power supplies.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Trace short circuits in wiring with a test meter.
• Inspect electrical units for loose connections and damaged insulation, and tighten connections with hand tools.
• Build controllers and panels using power drills, taps, saws, and punches.
• Maintain a clean work area, truck, and trailer.
• Service tools, vehicles, equipment, and keep parts and supplies organized.
Experience/Qualifications:
• Current Texas Apprentice License (Company will help set up if required)
• Minimum 1-year electrical experience (2+ years of electrical experience preferred)
• Previous oilfield experience and knowledge is preferred
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
• Good communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Reading skills (basic instructional and technical information)
• Must have clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
