About the Role

Kimberlite Research is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Data Scientist to join our Market Intelligence and Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oilfield services, data modeling, and voice-of-the-customer (VoC) market research, with the ability to translate large, complex datasets into actionable business insights for strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and synthesize voice-of-the-customer data from interviews, surveys, and secondary sources to identify trends in supplier performance, technology adoption, and investment behavior.
• Develop and maintain data models and dashboards supporting Kimberlite’s oilfield service sector reports (Drilling, Completions, Production, Subsea, etc.).
• Build predictive models to assess market dynamics, pricing trends, and share-of-spend changes across service categories.
• Contribute to automation and AI initiatives that enhance insight generation from structured and unstructured data sources.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, market intelligence, or business analysis within the oilfield services industry (drilling, completions, production, subsea, or related). Preferably with Integrated OFS, including the “BIG 4”.
• Strong command of Python, R, SQL, or Power BI/Tableau for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
• Proven ability to integrate quantitative data with qualitative insights from customer interviews and surveys.
• Deep understanding of oil & gas service company operations, technologies, and value drivers.
• Excellent communication skills — ability to turn data into compelling insights and stories.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
