LOCATION: Oklahoma City, OK
CONTEXT: Our client is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Controller to lead and manage the company's accounting, financial reporting, treasury compliance, and financial operations. This position is a blend of Accounting, Finance, and Treasury role within a lean team environment.
The Controller will serve as the owner of core accounting functions while also supporting budgeting, forecasting, strategic initiatives, and future M&A activity.
This role is ideal for a strong accounting leader who can own the details, strengthen structure and controls, and contribute at a strategic level.
Travel up to 20% may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting Leadership
• Full ownership of accounting operations (AP, AR including unsigned DTs, GL, reconciliations)
• Lead monthly close (target 7-8 days) and prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
• Manage fixed assets and lease accounting
• Lead annual audit and maintain GAAP compliance
• Support external tax reporting (sales & use, state, federal)
Treasury & Compliance
• Manage cash flow and working capital
• Prepare monthly borrowing base reports and quarterly lender compliance
• Support oversight of term loan and revolving credit facility
Controls & Process Improvement
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls
• Drive automation across AP/AR, credit cards, and financial systems
• Strengthen financial reporting structure and scalability
Finance & Strategy
• Lead budgeting and forecasting
• Provide financial insights and performance analysis
• Support future M&A and strategic initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms. Previous experience with implementing automations is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
