Position Overview
World Oil is seeking a Commercial Driver - Class A CDL (OTR) for a full-time position in Bakersfield, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe pick-up and delivery of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including crude oil, gas oil, and other products, at various customer locations. As part of a family-owned company with over 75 years of experience, you will join a team that values work-life balance and a productive, safe work environment. Compensation: $23.00/ Hour + Commission.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate a commercial vehicle safely on a daily basis.
• Plan routes and complete customer service requests efficiently.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections to ensure the unit is safe to operate.
• Maintain basic vehicle maintenance, including fueling.
• Drive to customer sites to pump oil or pick up drums safely.
• Offload oil into railcars or drums into trailers.
• Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members.
• Provide professional, respectful, and courteous customer service.
• Complete required annual training via online or classroom settings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Commercial Class A/B Driver’s License with all necessary endorsements.
• 2 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle (experience with Commercial Class A/B License preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work OTR multiple days a week.
• Ability to work Sunday through Thursday and occasionally weekends.
• Early morning shift availability (start time may vary based on company needs).
• Tanker and pump experience.
• Asphalt hauling experience is a plus.
